Hall County Technology Conference a Success!

Mrs. McDaniel and I were able to share some ideas on how to podcast lessons. We will be sharing many podcasts of what we're up to here on this blog and teacher webpage. 

Mrs. Coker and I were able to share with other teachers how they could start a program like Soarin' at their school.  We had many teachers comment that they'd like to do the same for their kids. 

On Thursday we had a few students share what they've done in Soarin'.  Dr. Rayburn even stopped by!

Anticipating Olympian Athletes

Yesterday I got super excited as I was given a list of our Olympian Athletes.  It seems like our Open House (August 4, 2011 from 4-7pm) is so far away, yet very close.  I cannot wait to meet each and every one of our talented athletes and fans (family). 

Please begin thinking about all of the fun adventures you have had this summer and what you’d like to share with us.  We would love to hear what fun things you were able to do with friends and family members over the summer.  My hope is for us all to share at least one fun adventure we had on the first day of school (August 8, 2011).

Preparing for Third Grade

Are you as excited as I am about third grade?!?!?!?  I am already getting ready and wanted to share with you a few ways you can prepare for third grade.

You will need the following supplies for next year:  
2 packs wide-ruled notebook paper
3 sewn in composition books
12 #2 pencils
1 glue bottle
1 pack of colored pencils
1 pack of dry erase markers
1 pair of scissors
1 –half inch three ring binder (1/2 in.)

You can also review your math skills and reading skills that you learned in second grade.  I found a REALLY neat game site:  http://www.abcya.com/second_grade_computers.htm  that contains many different FUN games for second graders.  If you want to challenge your self or look ahead to what is to come in third grade you can go to their third grade site:  http://www.abcya.com/third_grade_computers.htm.  HAVE FUN!!!!
